New Menu items Launched at the Bakehouse
The Scholars Inn Bakehouse is excited to introduce our new menu starting November 2008.
We believe this menu offers the quality, variety and value that our guests have come to love about the Bakehouse. Many of these new entrees are just perfect for dinner. From the Braised Beef & Philly Hoagies on our new Ciabatta buns, to artisan Flat Breads on Bakehouse crust, to Gourmet Macaroni & Cheese from Chef Jake Brenchley, our dinner entrees are delicious, filling and all under $9. To kick off this new menu we will have incredible specials every day:
$1 Cookies with purchase of any sandwich, salad or dinner entrée
$1 In-House Coffee after 5pm
ALL bread half price after 5pm with purchase of any sandwich, salad or dinner entrée
We have also expanded our kids menu to include many of their favorite foods. We will have a kids’ corner which will have coloring books, word puzzles, toys… to make their dining experience a little more fun.
We haven’t forgotten about breakfast! We have expanded our Famous Egg Sandwiches to include egg white sandwiches (meat & veggie) on whole wheat. We have also lowered the price of all our Famous Egg Sandwiches to $3.99. We now have spinach & feta and ham & cheese stuffed croissants, salmon benedicts & a new kids breakfast menu. We also have brought back the popular granola pancakes. Speaking of granola (which I think is the best in the world!!!), we will now serve a small cup of granola with many of our breakfast entrees. It is the perfect way to finish off the most important meal of the day.
For lunch we have added a new $5 Classics Menu. These are classic deli sandwiches served with chips and a pickle for $5! We also added a traditional New York Corned Beef on Rye, piled so high your jaw will hurt, a Triple Decker Club and we brought back the old fashioned Tuna Melt. We’ve expanded our Salad Menu to include new items such as the Salsa Salsa Salad (made with red and black bean salsas), the Very Veggie Salad and the Classic Salad, which features chicken or tuna salad surrounded by organic mixed greens and seasonal fresh fruit.
Along with the new menu, the Downtown Bakehouse will now be OPEN UNTIL 9PM and will offer some of the most inexpensive beers in town. As you can see, there is a lot to be excited about. However, nothing excites us more than the high quality and unique products the Bakehouse offers. As you know, our products are made by hand, using all-natural ingredients and NEVER contain preservatives. They taste great and we are proud to serve them to our children.
With our new production facility we will continue to introduce new and innovative products. As a Bloomington original, we are so proud of our community. We feel a responsibility to help keep Bloomington unique. We thank you for supporting us and other independent establishments, which in turn helps keep resources from leaving the state and keeps our local economy strong.
